I get a lot of messages daily from my clients, and one of the most frequent messages I receive pertains to them believing there is a ghost in their home. The thought of having a ghost in your home can be a scary one, especially when you don't really understand exactly what a ghost is. A ghost is the technical term for a earthbound spirit, or a human spirit that hasn't crossed over yet after death. There are countless reasons why a spirit chooses to stay, or can't cross over yet, however in today's article, I want to go over some of the signs that you do in fact have a ghost in your home.
Small things regularly move or go missing.
Lights are turned off or left on when you can’t remember doing either.
You hear music or people mumbling as a distant sound.
You’re afraid to be home alone.
Your dog growls or barks at nothing when laying in bed at night.
You have dreams of people you have never met before.
You frequently think someone said something to you and they didn’t.
You live near a hospital or old battleground.
When outside of your home, you frequently look up in the windows because you think someone is there.
There are rooms in your house you feel uncomfortable being in.
You regularly wake up in the middle of the night for no reason.
You know someone who recently died and it was a traumatic or unsettling experience.
Doors are closed or opened when you can’t remember doing either.
You regularly hear noises in other rooms.
You live in an old or historic neighborhood.
You wake up in the middle of the night and remember to do small, but important household tasks - locking the door, blowing out candles, making sure you put out the fire.
You have seen shadows or movement out of the corner of your eyes.
You feel very tired after not much activity.
You frequently look to see if someone is watching you.
Your cat or dog keeps looking at the corners.
Some of the rooms in your house feel thick, heavy or cold.
You witness doors close slowly on their own.
You are drawn to watch television shows and movies about ghosts.
There are many more signs of ghosts, yet the point is if you even have to wonder if there is a ghost, there probably is one. Ghosts can be scary, yet they can also live right along side us, co-existing without ever bothering each other. There have even been stories about ghosts that have become friends with the people they share the home with - so they are not always scary, and they won't hurt you most of the time. Having said that, there are reports of ghosts getting violent, you never really know for sure. A good way to tell is just to pay attention to the way you feel. Do you feel scared or fearful? If so, this probably means that the ghost is a negative one. On the other hand, if you aren't scared, but more curious, the ghost is not an evil one, and there is no need to be alarmed.
